Recognised Qualifications

The following qualifications are currently recognised by the SWR Board for the purposes of registration under the Social Workers Registration Act 2003

2.5 Current Qualifications recognised from 1 January 2006 as at December 2008. Schedule of current recognised New Zealand qualifications

2.6 Recognised New Zealand Qualifications retired since 1 January 2006 These are recognised qualifications for the purposes of registration if completed before the date indicated as the date the qualification was retired.

2.4 Recognised historical New Zealand qualifications, retired prior to 1 October 2004 These are recognised qualifications for the purposes of registration if completed before 30/9/2004.

2.3 Recognised New Zealand current qualifications (Prior to 31 December 2005) These are recognised qualifications for the purposes of registration if completed by 31/12/2005. They are also recognised for the purposes of registration if the qualification was commenced prior to 31/12/2005 and completed by 31/12/2009; or the qualification is carried forward to schedule 2.5 or 2.6.

If you have not completed or started one of the qualifications on the above 2.3 or 2.4 schedules by 31 December 2005 you will be required to obtain one of the 2.5 qualifications for the purposes of registration under the Social Workers Registration Act 2003
